Simon Gnehm

Born in Zurich, Switzerland.  Immigrated to the USA in 1996 as a formally educated heavy timber carpenter.  This trade is better known in the USA as Timber Framing. Pursued an engineers degree in the early 2000’s and graduated in 2005.  Worked in the Biomass industry, manufacturing wood pellets. Returned to the trade of his passion in 2015.  Built or worked on Timber Frame projects in 6 countries, 2 continents.  Speaks 5 languages, 4 of them fluent, 3 on mother language level. Lead or co-lead multiple projects with the Timber framers guild (tfguild.org)

Philosophy

Having learned a trade in an old school fashion under the watchful eye of a master of the trade, literally, integrity in my work has the highest priority.  I connect the art and engineering aspects of any project.  Logistics, communication, architectural components and engineering details are all part of my services.

I’m a trained engineer and a talented Craftsman with the heart of an artist.  My job is to connect with your project and transform spaces so you love your home more than ever before.
